Surviving a Zombie Apocolypse.

Why do Zombies and Robits make great video game fodders? My thoughts: killing zombies best represents the action if killing a human more or less because of it's organic nature. You get the fleshy gore that you'd get from a person but without knowing that that person might have had family. Any other theories out there?
